Hi, I'm Abbie. I’m the founder of Wine at Mine and, quite simply, someone who loves a great story and a glass of wine to go with it! My wine journey began in an unusual way. For a long time, I was a "safe" drinker. I knew what I liked and rarely branched out - usually sticking firmly to New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc or Prosecco. That all changed during a girls holiday to Champagne, France.

Visiting local boutique producers completely opened my eyes. I absolutely loved the personal nature of these small estates - meeting the families, talking directly to the winemakers, and often tasting right in their kitchens! It completely transformed how I tasted and appreciated the wine and unlocked a new passion in me. I was determined to banish the guesswork from the supermarket aisles and expand what was in my glass. But where to start?

I worked towards my WSET wine qualifications, travelled to incredible wine regions abroad, and threw myself into the local wine scene, working as a grape picker during UK harvests. I'm lucky enough to live in Sussex, the wine capital of England. When I’m not working or hosting tasting events, you'll usually find me tending to vines at a small community-run vineyard or travelling across the South East to explore our wonderful English wine estates.

It was this hands-on passion that inspired me to create Wine at Mine alongside my marketing career, allowing me to share that same "aha!" moment with you. By combining my professional background with my love for storytelling, I want to take the intimidation out of wine in a relaxed, fun way. I’m not a rigid wine critic - just a passionate fellow drinker excited to help you discover your next favourite bottle!
